Within our University, the courses offered by the Discipline of Medical Informatics and Biostatistics are included in the curricula of the three component faculties: Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy (Pharmacy Assistance), both within the undergraduate cycle (first year, second year and third year of study), and of master’s programs (Health education management, Clinical and Community Nutrition, Management of social and health services).
The topics covered by our discipline are essential and indispensable components in the practice of evidence-based medicine. Therefore, the courses of Medical Informatics and Biostatistics are found in the compulsory curriculum of any medical or pharmaceutical faculty.
The team is multi-disciplinary, our specialists having the initial basic training in medicine, computer science, mathematics, IT&C engineering, with doctoral studies on a wide range, in Romania or at other European universities.
We have work experience and close collaborations both with the technical universities in Timișoara, as well as with the university medical clinics and the research branches of the pharmaceutical industry.
