The Neurological Clinic has been founded along with the Timisoar Faculty of Medicine
Prof. Dr . Oscar Sager was its first leader during 1949-1955. Prof Dr. Oscar Sager was Prof . Dr. Gheorghe Marinescu’s pupil- whose renown and respected personality into the world neurological community has positioned Romania into the forfront of the modern neurology since its constitution at the end of the 19th century
Beetwen 1955 and 1978 Prof. Dr. Alexandru Șofletea took the lead of the Clinic followed by Prof. Dr. Enciu Minciu during 1978 to 1987 and then Prof Dr. Harry Marcovici from 1987 until 1992. Prof Dr. Alexandru Zolog will lead the Clinic from 1992 to 2011. Since 2011 Prof. Dr. Mihaela Simu is the leader of the Discipline.
